This is a tour specially cut for travelers with limited time that want to make the best out of it. It is also a great tour for expats living in Saigon and don’t have much time available and wish to know more about the way the locals live in the countryside. Longing to build long-lasting memories within a short time? This is the ideal trip for you!
We gather at the office of Flamingo Travel, and depart for Cao Dai Temple, at around 8:30 a.m. It will take us about an hour to leave the city behind us, before we follow our guide who will take us on the back road, to escape the heavy traffic of the highway.
Heading west, we will go passed through quaint villages and enjoy the wonderful and peaceful rural landscape, as we drive towards the city of Tay Ninh.
We arrive at Cao Dai temple, at around 11:00 a.m., where you can admire the beautifully decorative temple of Caodaism and, if you so desire, attend the mid-day service that is definitely a unique and extraordinary experience. During the service, the hall of the temple is flooded with loyal followers in colorful robes; as a means to demonstrate the religious diversity distinguishing the place, which is a blend of 4 religious pillars: Taoism, Confucianism, Buddhism, and Christianity.
Before we continue west, we stop to have lunch and a refreshing soft drink. Our next destination is the Cu Chi villages, with the characteristic majestic tunnels. You have a chance to watch a short video presentation and film about the tunnels of Cu Chi, before we enter the tunnels and live the experience ourselves! At this point, we will have the opportunity to taste the food local people used to eat during the war: the manioc, which will surely please your palate! And, if you want to let some steam off, you are free to enjoy yourself with some shooting, with an MK16 or an AK47, in the rifle range nearby!
The route back home will take us through amazing trails as we will take an entirely different east way to return to Sài Gòn and Flamingo’s offices.
