Any questions you may ask will have thoughtful replies, and as soon as the tour ends, you will have enriched your knowledge upon this country and the people living in it! If we have a chance to live life at its fullest, this tour is definitely a one-in-a-lifetime experience worth living, from beginning to end!
There are two fantastic tours available for you to choose from: We could either drop the bike and opt for the 4-day motorbike tour that ends at the Cambodian borders, and Chau Doc, or alternatively chose the 5-day tour and enjoy back road traveling all the way to Saigon.
Day 1: Saigon-Mekong Delta (200 km)
All our motorbike tours that Leave from Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) Will always start early in the morning to avoid Saigon’s heavy morning traffic, and head straight to the glorious Cu Chi tunnels, about 70 km far from Saigon. There you will have time to explore the life underground and release some steam with some gun-shooting. On the way, we will make short stops to have a cold drink and power up with a nutritious lunch at the local shops, before we ride through the rubber plantations that characterize the landscape. Leaving the My Tho village –famous for its horse racing- behind, we arrive at the Mekong River, where we will spend our first night.
We stay overnight in a homestay in the banks of Mekong River.
Day 2: Ride through the Cambodian Land (200 km)
Sunrise finds us getting ready for the boat trip that will allow us to do some exploration on the countryside’s river life, around the city of My Tho. For the next 100 km, we will be riding on the most rarely-crossed back roads that no guidebook refers to! All our motorbike tours including this south Vietnam tour allows a unique experience to visit local people and hospitable families, share a cold drink with them and taste a delightful meal.
The Cambodian Land welcomes us at around afternoon, and lets us enter a world dominated by ancient temples (like the ones seen in the Tomb Raider movie!) of more than 1,000 years old, and inviting Cambodians.
We spend the night at a homestay, located near an old temple.
Day 3: Can Tho (80 km)
We enjoy our breakfast with our lovely hosts and continue our tour on the small rural roads that take us to ethnic minority communities where people have never seen Western tourists before. Being among the first to visit their villages, you will be accepted with ecstatic joy and curiosity, as you flash off your camera to the little children that scream and run away at the sight of it, until they get used to its harmless presence, and start gathering around you eager to get their hands on this magic thing!
Our next stop is the 1920s capital of Can Tho. We will have the entire afternoon free to visit around before we check in at a quaint hotel.
We spend the night in a hotel in Can Tho.
Day 4: (Only for tours as a pillion passenger): Cambodia Border (130 km)
This day begins very early in the morning (5:00 a.m.), as we need to take a boat trip and visit the traditional floating-market. We have breakfast as we sail and as soon as the boat trip ends, we take our motorcycles and test our skills to their limit, by taking a small road leading to the city of Chau Doc. Chau Doc has much to showcase. You can admire the monkey bridges, the abundant mushroom and catfish farms, and become amazed by the snake farms, among so many others!
Have you ever been on any motorbike tours that give you the opportunity to stay on a floating hotel? You will find one on the banks of the Mekong River, which is our last stop for the day. You have the one-of-a-kind chance to book a boat trip that will lead you to Cambodia. The boat trip is for the following morning and finishes at around 4:00 p.m.
Day 5: (Guided tours – Self guided tours – Pillion passenger tours): Sai Gon (180 km)
The day starts early, and we visit the floating market, just like the program of Day 5 above. Only this time, we go to Saigon’s floating market, as there is no available option to ship our motorbikes back home from the city of Chau Doc. Again, the snake farms and the impressive bonsai garden will definitely win your heart while the local drinks and foods will please your palate to the utmost degree.
We have planned the trip so we arrive before rush hour. The tour ends at around 5:00 p.m. when we reach our hotel in Saigon.
