Depending on availability, and at no extra cost, we welcome you to stay with us either before or after your trip at our Flamingo Homestay located in the old quarter of Hanoi.
Brief itinerary:
Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau (220 km/approx. 6 hours)
Day 2: Mai Chau – Hanoi (180 km/approx. 6 hours)
The Mai Chau area, located in an idyllic valley northwest of Vietnam, in the Hoa Binh province, is a 160km drive (99 miles) from Hanoi. This small city is a favorite tourist destination, mainly due to its profound wild beauty and magnificent scenery that parts from impressive limestone mountains, picturesque villages, lush rice paddies and sugarcane plantations that go beyond the eye’s reach. Through a 4-hour drive, you will be able not only to see splendid natural surroundings, but also dive into enjoyable activities and familiarize yourself with the local cultures and people.
Away from the city’s hassle and bustle, this Mai Chau Valley Self Guided Tours Vietnam is a desirable oasis in the midst of our super-fast paced lives. With a much simpler and more relaxed manner of living, unpolluted fresh air and beautiful women that have mastered the art of weaving as it has been being passed on from one generation to another, it is highly unlikely you will not fall in love with this place after this 2-day tour!
Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau (220 km/ approx. 6 hours)
You depart from Hanoi and, with the river as our companion, we head north to Hong Son Lake. On the way, you can admire the enthralling scenery, comprised of small islands crowned with tall evergreen trees and endless limestone peaks that provide an ideal combination of peace and wilderness in perfect balance.
Your ride continues up north and goes on giving you breathtaking views, as you ride on smooth, flat road until you reach Mai chau in the afternoon. You can take some time to wander around the place, get to know the people and explore the town a bit more, just before dinnertime.
After enjoying your dinner, you have the opportunity to watch a local festive, the Thai Dance music show with traditional Thai music, or alternatively, go straight to your Thai tilt house and have some good night’s rest after an exhilarating Guided Tours Vietnam.
Day 2: Mai Chau – Hanoi (180 km/approx. 5 hours)
Today, your head back to Hanoi from a totally different and equally fascinating route. As you ride east north, you will go past the famous Thung Khe pass, and all the way to the city of Hoa Binh. We continue to head northeast, passing the Hoa Binh dam and going through the Hoa Binh tunnel. The last stretch of the tour is filled with a delightful view from the countryside back roads just out on the city suburbs, which will eventually lead you to the most less used highway, avoiding all the condesce city traffic.

Note: To make a reservation you are required to pay a 30% reservation deposit. we accept credit/debit card payments via Onepay our secure online payment system. We also accept a Western Union or a bank transfer. However, we recommend you pay via Onepay, as it’s quick, convenient, it’s simple to use and is the cheapest way of making a payment. You can pay the remaining balance in our office by credit/debit or cash before you depart on your tour.
